The grave of Gary Moore [35] probably has more visitors than any other at St. Margaret's. Moore was a celebrated singer/songwriter who grew up in East Belfast; he was considered to be a virtuoso rock and blues guitarist, and performed with a number of bands, particularly Skid Row and Thin Lizzy, as well as having a solo career. He died of a heart attack in his sleep at the age of 58, whilst on holiday with his then partner at the Kempinski Hotel in Estepona. At his private funeral, Moore's son Jack and his uncle Cliff performed the Irish ballad "Danny Boy". Gary Moore's connection with the village is not known; he lived for a time in Vallance Gardens in Hove, and performed in Brighton venues.
