Against the wall, almost in the corner, you will find Sir George J G Lewis [34] who lived at The Grange [view] and was responsible for employing Lutyens and Jeykyll to remodel the house and gardens in the 1920s.

He was the son of society lawyer Sir George Henry Lewis who was famous for many "causes célèbres" criminal cases including the Hatton Garden diamond robbery.

He died tragically in Switzerland after falling onto a railway line.
